We’re often referring to our holistic approach to healing, but what does this actually mean? To summmarise, here are a few pointers to show some of what Ariani Health Solutions include in a mind, body, soul holistic health approach:
The term holistic (from the root word ‘whole’) health describes therapies that consider the individual as a whole person or rather part of a more extensive system. Thus, instead of treating only the symptoms of a health challenge, an illness or disease, as in mainstream medicine (allopathy), before recommending specific treatments and health coaching protocols, we take into account an individual’s overall:
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
- Spiritual
- Social
- Occupational
- Financial and
- Environmental wellness.
Our holistic approach comprises Holistic Medicine, The Weight Control Clinic, a youthful living approach through our Timeless DNA Program, Stress Solutions, Attitudinal Healing, emotional blocks to healing, and Workplace Wellness.
The tools and techniques used are non-invasive and support the body’s return to its natural state of healthy equilibrium (known as homeostasis).
Examples of some chronic health challenges, to illustrate the concept o digging a little deeper for the root cause, where suppressed, unconscious emotions often play role:
Psoriasis:
The skin is the largest organ in the body and forms a protective layer between ourselves and the outside world. It protects us from environmental toxins, invasion by bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses and mechanical injury. The skin regulates body temperature, excretes waste matter and is the main organ for the sense of touch. It must be well cared for and looked after. The factor that contributes most to ageing of the skin – let alone the risk of skin cancer – is over exposure to the sun. However, for optimal vitamin D production inside the skin, sun exposure on bare skin, is essential.
Arthritis Autoimmune: When the immune system arracks its own cells, underlying emotional events always play a role
Stress Component: Most stress triggers can be mastered, or managed once we become aware of them. If we learn to take responsibility for our own reaction to any stress trigger, we can learn to change our instantaneous stress survival response to one of witnessing or observing, and then to change the gage on our stress thermometers to a lower setting.
Chronic stress doubles your risk to die from a heart attack. Stress is associated with all our chronic diseases or health challenges (such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes mellitus, depression, cancer, autoimmune diseases like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis; also eczema, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, asthma, endometriosis, male & female reproductive challenges, menopause, etc.), either as cause, exacerbating factor, or both.
Light Touch Therapy: Through healing touch therapy the human need for touch can be complied with Centering, Breathing, Relaxing & Unwinding. Why do we often feel tired, pressured and even exhausted after a wonderful holiday? You simply don’t have the energy to go back to work and you don’t even want to start thinking about the next 12 months! A lot of people feel like you do – it is the holiday blues, a general and well-known phenomenon. You can do something to prevent this!
Liver Detox: Are you feeling exhausted or sluggish, bloated, with hair and skin looking lifeless and dull, waist band just a little too tight? You could be in need of a simple, gentle, healthy 2 day detox – a weekend cleanse will work well to restore your wilting energy levels.
Stress, deadlines, late nights, irregular and/or unhealthy eating habits and too much alcohol, can overload the nervous system, liver, kidneys and digestive tract.
Supplement & Herbs: Natural Remedies
Integrative medical remedies to support brain and heart function, neuroplastic renewal and inflammation (the root cause of all disease)
I hear so many passing comments on ‘you must use this magnesium spray’, or ‘that magnesium supplement is the best’, that I thought it would be helpful to explain a little bit of the confusing and contradictory world of supplements that I have researched and wrote about since 1995, just to clarify matters a little.
Food supplements made from natural (rather than synthetic) food based ingredients, are called nutriceuticals. Nutri- from the word nutrition, and –ceutical from the word pharmaceutical, for the healing and balancing effect of food used as medicine. Nutriceuticals are recognized by the body as natural and therefore the absorption and bioavailability for cellular function would be better than that of synthetic (manufactured) supplements.
Nutriceuticals are taken on a daily basis complementary to a healthy diet, as an insurance policy to ensure optimal health and wellbeing.
